Well, the fam and I are finally moved from the frigid north of
Chicago to the sweltering heat of Texas.
That means two things...
No more shoveling a driveway full of snow; and
Margaritas by the pool with my band of good 'ol boys!
Problem is, mixed drinks are a serious bellyfat expander. Not
cool!
The standard 1.5 oz. serving of 80 proof tequila has 96 calories
straight out of the bottle.
If you add a margarita mix from the bottle, the finished 4 oz.
cocktail will have 140 calories.
But here's a little kink in the plan...
The average margarita glass is 12 ounces - which puts your glass
at a whopping 420 calories.
Now a couple of things here...
* Who the hell stops at one margarita?
* No self-respecting Texan (I now claim resident status) would
be caught dead mixing a margarita out of a bottle!
* There's a better way to have your margarita without the
tons-o-calories!
Here's a skinnier version that won't make you sacrifice taste...
1. Combine the juice of 1 lime, 1 single packet of stevia
sweetener, 1 ounce of 100% agave tequila, and small amount
of natural powdered lemon-flavored drink mix (like a natural
version of "Crystal Light" if you can find it) into a metal
shaker-cup.
2. Shake it up
3. Giddyup!
Whole thing is only 78 calories per margarita!
You're welcome! :-)
Look great...feel great...BE GREAT! ;-)
